Opening this month’s meeting, chairman Hans Hoogervorst commented on the large number of visitors saying: “there must be something interesting on the agenda, let’s take a look. Oh, insurance!” It is probably true to say that, in what will be the last substantive discussion on potential amendments to IFRS 17, the topic being discussed was one of the most controversial areas of the standard. Other items were less contentious and the Board made some good progress, in particular, on its Primary Financial Statements project.
