The law applicable to insurance contracts

In December 2006 the UK Treasury opened a consultation on the operation of the rules relating to the determination of the law applicable to insurance contracts. This was in response to an initiative from the EU, launched in December 2005, aimed at simplifying the present impossibly complex structure. The UK Government has not accepted the EU’s proposals.
