Two recent English decisions have considered procedural issues arising from the insolvency of insurance companies. In
Re HIH Casualty and General Insurance Co Ltd
[2006] EWCA Civ 732 the question was whether the English court would lend its assistance to a foreign liquidation. In
Re Sovereign Marine & General Insurance Co Ltd
[2006] EWHC 1335 (Ch) the question was the approval of a scheme of arrangement relating to a foreign insurer.
