Ecuador praised for role in EU cocoa deal on cadmium levels

As a fast-growing Latin American cocoa producer, Ecuador has been praised by the International Cocoa Organisation (ICCO) for its leading role in bringing about a consensual outcome to the EU Regulation on cadmium content in cocoa, Agra Informa analyst Alan Bullion reports. These limits were published in mid-May and come into force from January 2019.
