Loss of hire case rejected

Owners have welcomed the failure of an appeal in a loss of hire dispute as Catriona Lewis, of Lax & Co, reports

The Court of Appeal in London recently dismissed an appeal (in Sealion Shipping Ltd and Toisa Horizon Inc v Valiant Insurance Company) by loss-of-hire insurers against a Commercial Court judgment in favour of shipowners, in a dispute over alleged material non-disclosure and / or misrepresentation.
