Bribery and corruption: An international update

More than a year has elapsed since the UK’s Bribery Act 2010 came into force on 1 July 2011, and the world is still suffering from the effects of corruption, as shown by the World Bank figure of $1trn being attributed to corruption annually, and a continuing series of media reports of corruption. So what effect has the Bribery Act, the ‘strongest anti-corruption legislation worldwide’ achieved? What is happening internationally?
