£6 million care package for brain damage

A boy who suffered severe brain damage after midwives failed to recognise he was being starved of oxygen during his birth has received a £6 million care package to pay for his future care and rehabilitation. The boy has severe cerebral palsy after doctors failed to act quickly when his heart rate changed during his birth, leaving him completely reliant on a wheelchair, unable to speak and feed himself and needing round-the-clock care.
