Blacklisted construction workers legal action

GMB, represented by Leigh Day, are preparing to take legal action on behalf of workers whose names have been unlawfully held on a blacklist, often because of their union activities. It has emerged that over 40 construction firms have subscribed to this blacklist, held by the Consulting Association, in order to vet new recruits and monitor trade union and health and safety activists, said the law firm, which added that more than 3,200 workers have been blacklisted in this way and the vast majority are still unaware that their personal data has been unlawfully used against them.
