£50,000 settlement for injured cyclist

A cyclist who was knocked unconscious and suffered a catalogue of injuries when she was struck by a car has received £50,000 in an out of court settlement. She suffered a vertebral fracture, a shattered right collar bone and a broken nose as well as extensive damage to her teeth and deep lacerations to her face which required 35 stitches. It was several weeks before she was able to discard her sling, begin physiotherapy and return to her job as a statistician.
