£10,000 in compensation for fall injury
A healthcare assistant who ended up having knee surgery after falling in the hospital grounds has received £10,000 in compensation.
The path from the car park to the hospital was in such a poor state of repair it was unsafe to walk on and the most direct
route to the entrance was fenced off for building works. As a result she was forced to take an alternative route across a
grassy area. Her heel fell in a six inch hole, causing her to twist her left knee. She ended up needing surgery on the knee
and had to take three months off work. The NHS Trust admitted liability and settled the claim out of court.
