Night shift work increases risk for breast cancer

A new study in the journal Occupational and Environmental Medicine has concluded that frequent night shift work increases the risk for breast cancer and suggests a higher risk with longer duration of intense night shifts. The study, by researchers from the Institute of Cancer Epidemiology at the Danish Cancer Society, examined night shift work and breast cancer risk among women in the Danish military.
