Tribunal awards £200,000 in compensation for disability discrimination

An employment tribunal has awarded £200,000 in compensation to a former soldier blinded in action on the grounds of discrimination. He was left without sight in both eyes when an IRA bomb went off in close proximity to him while he was serving with the armed forces in Belfast and then began a new career at the offices of a council.
