£3 million in compensation for hit and run victim

A young man who suffered life-threatening brain injuries after he was left for dead by a hit and run driver has been awarded almost £3 million in compensation at the High Court to fund his future rehabilitation and care. He suffered devastating head injuries and lost his job and house, becoming severely depressed. The driver’s insurers admitted 75% liability after a witness said he wasn’t sure if the victim looked both ways before crossing.
