Bill for state regulation of hairdressers defeated

A Private Members’ Bill to establish a compulsory state regulation of hairdressers has been defeated in the House of Commons. Tory MP and former hairdresser David Morris introduced the bill following a number of reports of instances of serious injuries suffered by customers who suffered severe allergic reactions to hair dyes.
