Government orders review of PIP breast implant safety data

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley has ordered a review of the safety data on breast implants made by French firm Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) which were banned last year. The move follows the recommendation of the French authorities that 30,000 women have faulty breast implants removed as a precaution, whilst insisting that there is no evidence of a cancer link.
