£47,000 in damages for RTA back injury

A young woman who had to be dragged from the wreckage after the car she was travelling in collided with a tree, has received more than £47,000 in damages in an out of court settlement. The woman has been left with a permanent back injury after the driver lost control, hit a bank of mud and the car was launched through the air and slammed into the tree. The car immediately began filling with smoke, and the driver had to push her through the passenger door as his own door was jammed. When he placed her on the ground, she lay in shock, struggling to breathe and unable to move. She was taken to hospital by ambulance, where x-rays confirmed she had fractured her spine. She relied on others to help care for her for the next seven months. She continues to suffer severe back pain on a daily basis, and her medication often causes her to feel nauseous, drowsy and exhausted.
