In assessing the implications of the introduction of the Rotterdam Rules for protection & indemnity (P&I) insurance, the Hague-Visby Rules and Hamburg Rules offer us a useful precedent of the manner in which P&I Clubs have, and in the case of the Rotterdam Rules could, addressed the changes introduced by international maritime conventions.
