Pilots warn over proposed European fatigue rules

The British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) has issued a warning about proposed European fatigue rules. “The public would rightly be outraged if an airline pilot drank five cans of lager while at the controls of an airliner,” said BALPA. “But that is the effect of proposed European fatigue rules that would see pilots flying with levels of fatigue equivalent to putting them four times over the legal alcohol limit.”
