TUC responds to Independent Review of Health and Safety Legislation

The TUC has responded to the consultation on the Independent Review of Health and Safety Legislation. The TUC said it does not support regulation for the sake of it. “We believe that, to be effective it must be simple, clear and proportionate. Unnecessary regulation is of no help to anyone, including safety representatives…What we now see is a review of regulation which is being driven by ideology rather than any wish to improve its effectiveness. That will destroy the consensus that has existed around regulation on health and safety for the past 37 years,” said the TUC.
