£5 million clinical negligence compensation
Clinical negligence compensation of £5 million has been awarded to a child who sufferered from permanent brain damage as a
result of complications at birth. She was starved of oxygen for a prolonged period during her delivery, meaning she sustained
cerebral palsy. It was discovered that medical professionals at the institute failed to recognise the fact that she had an
abnormal heart beat, even though this was clearly shown by the equipment they were using. She now requires 24-hour care and
will be wheelchair-bound for the rest of her life.
