Mesothelioma award includes payment to hospice
The family of a carpenter who was exposed to asbestos by his employers has received a substantial sum in compensation after
he died from mesothelioma. The compensation settlement obtained for the family also included a payment of £5,000 to the hospice
where he was looked after during his last days. He was exposed to asbestos while working as a carpenter for a council. He
was responsible for maintaining the council’s properties and this included working on roofs constructed from asbestos.
