£4.3 million compensation for brain injuries

A woman who was left with severe mental health issues has received compensation of £4.3 million. She suffered the brain injuries after being admitted to hospital as a baby. It reportedly took doctors two days to come up with a definitive diagnosis of bacterial meningitis, which meant that she had to then undergo brain surgery. She received an upfront sum of £1.75 million, as well as annual payments of £83,000 to cover the cost of her care.
