Three Costs Judges reject Jackson recommendations

Three Costs Judges of the Senior Courts Costs Office (Master Campbell, Master Haworth and Master Leonard) have responded to the proposals of the Ministry of Justice for reform of Civil Litigation and Costs in England and Wales, set out in Consultation Paper CP13/10 dated November 2010, by stating: “Unhappily we have been unable to agree with the majority view of the Costs Judges (the Senior Costs Judge (who is a signatory to the Response of Lord Justice Jackson to the proposals), Master O’Hare, Master Gordon-Saker and Master Simons), who support the recommendations made by Lord Justice Jackson in his review of Civil Costs.”
