£33,500 in compensation for facial injury

A man who suffered a facial injury at work has received £33,500 in compensation. The man was working as a steel worker on a construction site. He was working in close proximity to a crane. As he was working, he was struck in the face by a steel hook which was hanging from the overhead crane. At the time of the accident questions of contributory negligence were raised which he strongly denied. After much negotiation with his employer, a settlement was made.
