£551,488 in damages for RTA

A woman has received £551,488 in compensation after she was dragged for approximately 50 metres under the wheels of an articulated lorry. She was on her way to work just before 9 pm on a busy late-night shopping night in central London. She ran across a red light at a junction adjoining Oxford Street and was struck by an articulated lorry making a wide-angle left turn. The driver had failed to indicate while making his turn. Her injuries were so severe she remained in hospital for more than five months. Liability was admitted subject to a deduction of 20% in respect of contributory negligence.
