£115,000 settlement for arm injury
A printers’ assistant who was left unemployed after a workplace accident has received £115,000 in compensation. He was trying
to lift a stack of six metal cages when they got caught, leaving him with tennis elbow. He was diagnosed with chronic regional
pain syndrome, and has been told he is likely to suffer from limited use of the arm for the rest of his life. He argued the
company should have had a system in place to ensure the cages were stacked safely. The firm admitted liability and settled
the claim out of court.
