£7850 compensation for shoulder injury and hernia
A Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) employee has received £7850 compensation for a shoulder injury and hernia. As a result
of the pain from her injuries, she was unable to raise her arm and was not able to sleep. She had to undergo surgery as a
result of the second injury. Her work involved the repetitive handling of documents, moving heavy boxes of files onto and
off shelves and transferring them around the building on trolleys. She was diagnosed with frozen shoulder, a repetitive strain
injury caused by a lack of rotation and rest in manual work.
