£115,000 settlement for mesothelioma
A former telecoms engineer who was diagnosed with mesothelioma after he was exposed to asbestos while installing phone lines
has been awarded £115,000 in an out-of-court settlement. As a technician working for British Telecom from 1970 to 1991, he
was required to install new telephone lines at old office blocks, factories, schools and hospitals, as well as Army and Air
Force bases. He also worked at a former top-secret government bunker where he was exposed to asbestos.
