Transparency and Disclosure between Central Banks and Banking Sectors*

Abstract

There exists a difference between ‘corporate governance’ and ‘institutional governance’, the attributes of the latter may not be applied in their totality to the former. However, irrespective of the differences between these two concepts, the basic elements of confidence building in the minds of the public, transparency and disclosure may be observed by both types of institution. Governance of profit-driven institutions must remain different from those that are non-profit driven.
