Cross-party approval rushes through Digital Economy Act

The UK Parliament has passed the controversial Digital Economy Act, after opposition Conservative and Liberal Democrat MPs agreed not to vote against it.

The law was passed during the ‘wash-up’ period in parliament, which allows legislation to be approved in the brief period before an election, with little debate.
