Settlement of £1.6mn for botched operation
A man who was left wheelchair bound after a botched operation has been was awarded an out of court settlement of £1.6mn. He
had a large herniated disc in his spine which was compressing a nerve root. He underwent surgery to remove the bulging disc.
The surgeon was unable to locate the disc and during the surgery caused a tear to the tissue surrounding the spinal cord which
if left unrepaired can lead to the leaking of the spinal fluid.
