£50,000 for woman struck by car

A woman who was knocked over by an uninsured driver has been awarded almost £50,000 in compensation. She was crossing a road when she was struck by a car. The woman suffered scalp and facial lacerations, a fractured shoulder, a left tibial fracture, a punctured lung, broken ribs and a psychological reaction to the collision. Although the driver responsible for the incident was uninsured, the car he was driving was insured by his partner. The woman was able to pursue a claim against those insurers, and achieved a settlement of £47,500.
