Ceiops faces Solvency II backlash

Insurers fear that the financial crisis is to blame for Ceiops’ change of direction in drafting implementing measures

Detailed measures to implement the Solvency II directive have come under attack from insurers. Ceiops, the EU insurance adviser developing the Level 2 implementing measures, has received a list of concerns about both the underlying approach and the technical detail from insurers following the release of a batch of consultation papers on many of the key issues.
