Reinsurers form new lobby
Industry group puts regulatory issues at top of “to do” list
Agroup of leading reinsurers has formed a new trade association to represent the global reinsurance industry in regulatory
reform and other international developments. Launching the Global Reinsurance Forum (GRF), inaugural chairman Denis Kessler
of Scor said the association plugs a gap in the current representation of reinsurers in important global issues such as Solvency
II. “Today there is no such global representation for the reinsurance industry with the clear mandate to promote a regulatory
framework that facilitates global risk transfer through reinsurance and other reinsurance-linked capital solutions,” Mr Kessler
said.
