Plaintiff lawyers criticise Animals Act changes
Government plans to make changes to the Animals Act “via the back door” have been criticised by plaintiff lawyers. According
to John McQuater, president of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) the proposed amendment to the Act will make
the law less certain and is likely to make it more difficult for anyone injured by an animal to receive compensation, as the
Government has sided with animal keepers, rather than the people they injure.
