£1.35mn in compensation for brain damage

A girl who was left with brain damage as a result of negligent delays in her birth has been awarded £1.35m in compensation. She developed quadriplegic cerebral palsy and through her mother she sued the NHS Trust. The NHS trust admitted liability at an early stage of the legal action. A settlement was agreed under which the girl will receive a lump sum of £1.35m, plus annual tax-free payments to cover the costs of her care for the rest of her life.
