Life insurers stress test against 1980s slump

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has clarified how stress tests have been used for life insurers since the economic and banking crisis. Since the beginning of this year, the FSA has asked life insurers to conduct additional stress tests on their business using a scenario based on the economic downturn in the UK during the 1980s.
