Conservative government would abolish FSA

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) would be dissolved under a Conservative government, the opposition party has revealed in a new white paper setting out its approach to financial regulation. The Conservatives said banks and insurers would instead by regulated by the Bank of England, which would be responsible for micro-prudential regulation and be given greater jurisdiction over financial stability issues.
