IGS proposed across Europe

All member states could have to operate a compensation fund

Europe’s member states that currently do not operate an insurance guarantee scheme (IGS) are facing new rules that will require them to establish a compensation fund. In its advice to the European Commission, which is considering the options for improving policyholder protection against failed insurance companies, Ceiops has recommended that all member states provide a minimum level of protection for insurance policyholders.
