Harmer to leave Aon UK
Aon UK’s chief executive officer Peter Harmer is to leave his post after deciding to return to his home country, Australia.
Mr Harmer joined Aon UK in January 2007 and since then he has been credited with driving change at Aon Risk Services in the
UK and implementing a clear growth strategy for the broker’s UK business. Mr Harmer said: “I have truly enjoyed my time in
the UK and am delighted that the progress we have made in implementing our strategy has allowed me to return home a little
sooner than originally planned.” Mr Harmer will leave in September when he will also step down from his role as chair of London’s
Market Reform Group. Following his departure from Aon, the ARS UK management team will receive additional support from ARS
president Ted Devine. Mr Devine said he will focus on winning business in the UK and driving up revenues and profits. In addition,
chief executive officer of Aon Corporate & Affinity, Rob Brown, will be joining the global ARS executive committee to represent
its UK retail business.
