EC to launch new IMD review

The European Commission is to conduct another review of the Insurance Mediation Directive (IMD), which imposes minimum requirements for the supervision of insurance brokers across Europe. Charlie McCreevy, internal market commissioner, said recently that the Commission will begin a review of the directive in early 2010 that could lead to changes in the rules.
