Landmark ruling in equal pay case

The Court of Appeal has made a landmark ruling in the equal pay case of Joyce Slack and others v Cumbria County Council. The judgment will open the door for women who work for the same employer on a series of continuous contracts to bring equal pay claims that apply to the entirety of their length of employment, when the changes to their contracts are minor but the substance of their job remained the same, according to the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
