Marsh warns over Environmental Liability Directive

Businesses in the UK will now have to pay for any significant damage that they cause to the environment following the introduction of the European Union’s Environmental Liability Directive (ELD), Marsh has warned. The ELD, which was enacted into English legislation on March 1, will be complemented by separate legislation for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland later this year.
