£70,000 for serious foot injury
A warehouse operative has been awarded £70,000 after sustaining a serious foot injury when a fridge fell onto him. At the
time of the accident the member was instructing an agency truck driver where to place some fridges. The truck driver had a
pallet on which there were a total of eight fridges. As the truck driver was manoeuvring the pallets the load became unstable
and began to fall. The man tried to run away from the falling load but as he did so he tripped in a pothole in the floor.
He fell to the floor and one of the fridges fell off the load onto the bridge of his right foot causing a serious fracture
to his foot.
