Mesothelioma victim awarded £105,500

The widow of a heating engineer has been awarded £105,500 following her husband’s death from mesothelioma. He was exposed to asbestos when he was required to remove the asbestos used to lag the boilers and pipework heating a prison. In order to remove the asbestos lagging, the man and his colleagues used hacksaws and hammers, breaking the asbestos off in bits and creating clouds of dust.
