Out of court settlement for trip
A woman has received £85,000 in an out of court settlement following an accident at work. She sustained fractures to the tibia
and fibula and a dislocated right ankle when she fell at her employers’ premises when entering a basement area via steps.
The steps were accessed via a door and there was no warning on the door alerting employees to the presence of the steps. Liability
for the accident was admitted at an early stage and interim payments were made available to the woman who has managed to return
to work but on a part time basis only.
