Pleural thickening damages awarded

A maintenance electrician has been awarded £30,000 after developing pneumoconiosis (pleural thickening) as a result of exposure to asbestos. It was during his employment with two companies that he was exposed to asbestos dust on a regular basis when carrying out electrical repairs. Liability was disputed by both employers, however, after evidence of exposure was produced, and court proceedings were commenced, liability was conceded.
