£70,000 for back injuries

A machine operator has been awarded £70,000 for the injuries he sustained to his neck and back when he slipped on oil. He slipped on an oil spillage on the floor resulting in him falling and landing heavily on his back. The oil spill came from the machines which had been an ongoing problem for many weeks and had previously been reported. He was wearing safety shoes at the time of the incident. He was diagnosed as having suffered soft tissue injuries to his neck and lower back and subsequently underwent physiotherapy.
