NAIC assesses Solvency II for US regulation

The chief executive of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has issued a paper exploring the implications
of Europe’s proposed new capital adequacy regime for insurers, Solvency II. The paper, “The Implications of Solvency II for
US Insurance Regulation,” details areas of future work for US regulators on Solvency II, and lessons learnt from the financial
crisis.
