£100,000 in compensation for mesothelioma death
More than £100,000 in compensation has been paid to the widow of a former painter who died from mesothelioma as a result of
exposure to asbestos. He was exposed to asbestos for a number of years in the early 1970s when he was employed as a painter
and decorator for the Electricity Board. He carried out maintenance work around the depot which had asbestos lagged pipework
and he also painted sub stations around the North West, which involved working around asbestos lagging for repair and also
sanding down and painting doors lined with asbestos board.
